Watches with a date

References in the Grail Atlas catalog carrying the date complication.

A simple date window — usually at 3, sometimes 4 or 6 — is the most common complication in mechanical watchmaking. Look at quickset behavior (whether you can advance the date from the crown without spinning the hour hand around midnight) and at the cyclops/no-cyclops decision on Rolex references. The date wheel is also one of the most-criticized dial elements when its font or printing colour does not match the dial.
