The Alpine Eagle XL Chrono is a 44mm flyback chronograph on the Alpine Eagle integrated bracelet platform. The flyback function is the most direct test: pressing the reset pusher while the chronograph is running should instantly reset and restart without stopping. A non-flyback movement in this case is immediately disqualified.

Original: Cal. 03.05-C is a flyback chronograph. Pressing the reset pusher while the chronograph is running instantly resets the seconds hand to 12:00 and immediately restarts the chronograph from zero -- without requiring a stop press first. This is a functional test requiring no tools.

Cal. 03.05-C runs at 28,800bph with a 60-hour power reserve. COSC certification applies; rate testing should confirm within -4/+6 seconds per day.
Silicon pallet forks and escape wheel, same as the time-only Alpine Eagle. Magnetic exposure testing applies: the movement should show no rate change after brief magnet exposure.
Flyback function requires correct maintenance of the reset lever and its spring. A sluggish or partial flyback indicates worn or dried lubricant on the reset mechanism.
