Community + OSINT signals haven’t landed for this reference yet. We don’t publish a rating against zero signal — the number would mean nothing. Editorial body + caliber + market value still surface above; ratings appear once the signal corpus does.
The world-first bi-color ceramic bezel is the signature engineering feature on this reference; the black-and-white ceramic bonding is difficult to reproduce and any seam or color bleed between the two ceramics is a red flag.
Known issues in the market
Bi-ceramic bezel insert reproduced as two separate painted halves rather than a single bonded black-and-white ceramic piece; genuine construction shows no visible seam at the color transition.
Independent-hour GMT function faked with a simple 24-hour "caller" hand that cannot be set independently of the local hour hand; genuine Cal. 8906 lets the local hour hand jump in one-hour increments without stopping the seconds or the GMT hand.
Helium escape valve missing or non-functional; the HEV is a real functional component on this reference, not a decorative crown.

What is correct
Red flag
case
Bi-color ceramic bezel insert
Single bonded ceramic insert with a clean black-and-white split, contrasting numerals and scaling on each half, no visible seam at the color boundary
Visible seam, glue line, or color bleed at the black/white transition; two separately molded halves instead of one bonded piece
hands
Central GMT hand and independent-hour setting
Pulling the crown to the middle position lets the local hour hand jump in one-hour increments while the GMT hand and running seconds continue uninterrupted
GMT hand is the one that jumps instead of the local hour hand; watch stops or seconds hand halts when adjusting the hour; no independent-hour function at all
case
Helium escape valve
Functional HEV integrated into the case, releases pressure when tested; case maintains 600m water resistance rating
Decorative or non-functional valve; valve missing entirely; case that does not seal correctly around the valve
movement
Cal. 8906 Co-Axial Master Chronometer GMT
Cal. 8906 visible through the transparent caseback, Co-Axial escapement, Omega-signed rotor, METAS Master Chronometer certification
Movement inconsistent with Cal. 8906 architecture; missing Omega rotor signing; no METAS certification marks
Common legitimate replacements
Bezel inserts are the highest-value component to verify; a genuine bi-ceramic insert cannot be cheaply replaced if damaged, so a mismatched or seamed insert usually means a non-factory repair.
Bracelets with the extendable foldover clasp are diver-specific; confirm the clasp extension mechanism matches Omega Planet Ocean spec.
