- Original strap is a wide brown crocodile leather strap with a gold three-fold clasp; confirm the clasp is stamped Grand Seiko and is gold, not gold-plated base metal.
- Calibre 9SA5 service is Grand Seiko factory only; independent watchmakers had no documentation for this movement when it was new.
