The new SCHOTT watch brand is born with "Renaissance One". SCHOTT has manufactured this new Swiss Made automatic watch in homage to the ongoing construction of the world's future largest telescope. SCHOTT SA (Carl Zeiss Foundation) is involved in the manufacturing of the mirrors for the ELT, Extremely Large Telescope. The largest mirror is 39 meters in diameter with a surface area of 1116 m², composed of 798 hexagonal segments whose shape is found on the dial. All the mirrors are made of Zerodur® (SCHOTT patent), a material with an almost zero coefficient of thermal expansion (0.01 x 10-6 /K), i.e. 1,000 times less than metals, with nanometer polishing precision.
