Counterfeit dials are the primary risk; color and text precision are the tell.
- Counterfeit Max Bill dials exist with off-color lacquer; compare under identical lighting.
- Applied indices can lift if the watch has been exposed to moisture.

Authentication guide
The Max Bill Automatic is the most recognizable Junghans piece. The Bauhaus design language demands absolute dial restraint: no extraneous text, no date window on the no-date variant, and a printed "Max Bill" inscription at 12 that is the single most important authenticity marker.
