Brand history
Founded 1861 in Schramberg in the Black Forest by Erhard Junghans; was the world’s largest clockmaker by 1903 and one of the largest watchmakers in Germany through the 20th century. The Max Bill line — designed by the Bauhaus architect and former Ulm School director Max Bill, first produced 1961 — is the brand’s most-distinctive line and the cleanest commercial expression of Bauhaus design in horology, in continuous production with minimal alteration for six decades. Modern catalog spans Max Bill, Form, and Meister.
