The Gyrolab replaces the traditional lever escapement and balance wheel with a gyroscopic regulating organ: two arms rotate in a circular path, replacing the oscillating balance. The Gyrolab mechanism is visible through the partially skeletonized dial and it is the sole authentication point that matters at the movement level. If the mechanism rotates continuously rather than oscillating, it is a Gyrolab.

The Gyrolab regulating organ is visible in normal use. Any watch representing itself as a Gyrolab where the visible regulator oscillates is not a Gyrolab.

Original: The Gyrolab arms rotate around a central axis in a circular path. The rotation is driven by the gear train and regulated by aerodynamic drag on the arms. The mechanism operates continuously when the watch is running.
