Entry to the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève is voluntary and made by the brand. An entry is a watch registered for that year's competition, not a jury verdict, and several large houses including Rolex, Patek Philippe and Omega do not take part at all.

Authentication

Integrated bracelet seamlessness and instantaneous flyback reset are the two definitive checks.

Known issues in the market
  • Any gap at the case-bracelet interface is a non-genuine indicator; the Streamliner integration quality is the most differentiating physical feature.
  • Flyback reset must be instantaneous; a non-instantaneous reset indicates the flyback mechanism needs service.

Authentication guide

Last reviewed June 2026

The Streamliner Flyback Chronograph is Moser's most complex piece: an in-house flyback chronograph in an integrated-bracelet cushion case. The integrated bracelet's flat-link architecture and the absence of external pushers are the two fastest field checks. The flyback function -- a single press to reset and restart -- is the functional authentication test.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
MEDIUM

The Streamliner Flyback is difficult to replicate due to the custom integrated bracelet form and in-house flyback movement. The no-external-pushers design and flyback function are the fastest checks.

  • Visible external chronograph pushers on the case band -- the genuine Streamliner Flyback has none
  • Conventional link profile instead of the flat-link Streamliner bracelet
  • Non-flyback chronograph requiring two presses to stop and restart
  • Conventional metallic hairspring visible through caseback

Any flyback chronograph with external pushers presented as a Streamliner Flyback is immediately wrong on case design alone.

2020 to presentCurrent production Streamliner Flyback in steel, 42.3mm. Fumé dials in grey, blue, green, or black. Integrated metal bracelet with flat links.
  • Cushion-shaped case with integrated flat-link bracelet -- case and bracelet flow as one form
  • No external chronograph pushers visible on the case band -- the Streamliner Flyback uses hidden/integrated pushers
  • Fumé dial with the Streamliner's chronograph sub-dial layout
  • "Streamliner" and "H. Moser & Cie." text on the dial
  • Flyback chronograph sub-dials consistent with Cal. HMC 902 complication layout
  • Central chronograph seconds hand

Flyback chronograph function

Original: Cal. HMC 902 flyback: a single pusher press during running resets and immediately restarts the chronograph. The flyback function is testable without any tools: run the chronograph, then press the pusher once and confirm instantaneous reset and restart.

Replacement tells
  • Pusher press that stops the chronograph but does not immediately restart it -- indicates a non-flyback or damaged flyback mechanism
  • Non-functional chronograph activation on either pusher
  • Chronograph that requires two separate presses to stop and then restart
Integrated flat-link bracelet

Original: Flat-link integrated bracelet with links that flow directly from the cushion case. The bracelet should have a specific thickness and link profile that matches the case geometry. Aftermarket straps or non-Moser bracelets are immediately inconsistent with the case form.

Replacement tells
  • Rounded or conventional link profiles inconsistent with the known Streamliner flat-link geometry
  • Bracelet that does not flow seamlessly into the case at the lug area
  • Non-Moser integrated bracelet attached to the Streamliner case
Movement via caseback

Original: Exhibition caseback displaying Cal. HMC 902. The flyback chronograph column wheel is visible. Movement finishing to Moser's standard with Straumann hairspring in the balance assembly.

Replacement tells
  • Movement without visible column wheel (indicates non-column-wheel chronograph mechanism)
  • Conventional metallic hairspring instead of Straumann flat silicon
  • Movement finishing that is coarse under magnification
  • Movement layout inconsistent with Cal. HMC 902 architecture

2020 to present
  • Exhibition caseback displaying Cal. HMC 902
  • Flyback chronograph mechanism visible including column wheel
  • Straumann hairspring visible in the balance assembly
  • "H. Moser & Cie." on the movement
  • Reference and serial number on the case band
  • Steel hallmark

Movement tells

toggle
  • Cal. HMC 902 is an in-house flyback chronograph developed specifically for the Streamliner. The column-wheel mechanism produces a crisp pusher action. A mushy or imprecise pusher response indicates mechanical wear or a non-column-wheel substitute.
  • Straumann hairspring (flat-coil silicon) is present in the HMC 902. Visible through the caseback, it is the Moser movement signature.
  • Power reserve is approximately 54 hours. A Streamliner Flyback stopping before 45 hours when fully wound warrants service.
  • The column wheel is visible through the caseback. Its presence and correct architecture confirm the genuine flyback mechanism.
