Weight is the quickest titanium verification; a steel-weight XPS is not titanium.
Known issues in the market
- Titanium XPS is noticeably lighter than steel version; use a scale if available.
- Titanium case scratches more easily than steel; surface scratches are normal and should be disclosed.
| Area | What to check | What is correct | Red flag |
|---|---|---|---|
| case | Weight verification | Noticeably lighter than steel XPS of comparable size; titanium density is approximately half that of steel | Steel-weight watch described as titanium; wrong case material |
| caseback | Cal. 01.01-L designation | Cal. 01.01-L ultra-flat auto; Chopard in-house architecture | Non-Chopard caliber; incorrect caliber for this reference |
| case | Titanium surface condition | Titanium with normal surface scratches; brushed or polished finish per reference specification | Case deformation; titanium cannot be polished back to original profile without professional work |
Common legitimate replacements
- Leather strap; Chopard OEM alligator or calf preferred.
- Crystal; sapphire standard.

The L.U.C XPS Titanium uses the same Cal. 01.01-L micro-rotor architecture as the steel XPS in a titanium case. The titanium case produces a lighter, warmer-grey visual character compared to steel. The micro-rotor check through the caseback is identical to the steel variant.
