The L.U.C XPS Titanium uses the same Cal. 01.01-L micro-rotor architecture as the steel XPS in a titanium case. The titanium case produces a lighter, warmer-grey visual character compared to steel. The micro-rotor check through the caseback is identical to the steel variant.

Known reproduction risks

Replicas of the L.U.C XPS Titanium are rare. The most likely misrepresentation is a steel XPS represented as the titanium variant.

Titanium case

Original: Titanium has a distinct visual and tactile character: lighter in weight, warmer grey in color, and with a different surface finishing behavior than steel. A stated titanium case that feels heavy for its size or appears bright silver like polished steel warrants closer examination.

Replacement tells
  • Case weight inconsistent with titanium -- a titanium watch of this size should be noticeably lighter than a steel equivalent
  • Case color that is the bright silver of polished stainless steel rather than the lighter, warmer grey of titanium
  • Surface finishing that behaves like steel under scratching (titanium finishes differently from steel and is typically more difficult to scratch but shows marks differently)

Original: Same Cal. 01.01-L micro-rotor as the steel XPS variant. 22-karat gold micro-rotor signed "L.U.C." visible through the exhibition caseback.

  • Cal. 01.01-L runs at 28,800bph with 65-hour power reserve. Functionally identical to the steel XPS caliber; the titanium case does not alter movement performance.
  • The micro-rotor pivot in a titanium case watch benefits from periodic inspection; the lighter case mass means less automatic winding efficiency from casual wear compared to heavier steel variants.
  • Geneva Seal finishing applies. Movement inspection through the caseback should confirm the same finishing standard as the steel XPS.
