The Patrimony Moonphase combines ultra-thin architecture with perpetual calendar and moon phase display; secondary prices are consistent among collectors who prize restraint in complex watchmaking.

Authentication

Distinguish this from the Patrimony Perpetual Calendar by confirming the moon phase disc at 6 o clock and verifying the correct phase against the actual moon.

Known issues in the market
  • The Patrimony Moonphase and Patrimony Perpetual Calendar share the Cal. 1120 QP architecture; the moonphase disc at 6 is the visual differentiator.
  • An incorrect moon phase display requires manual correction; this is not a defect but indicates the watch has been stored and needs resetting.

Last reviewed June 2026

The Patrimony Moonphase pairs the ultra-thin Patrimony case with a retrograde date display and moonphase. The moonphase disc must be accurately synchronized with the current lunar cycle; a significantly off moonphase indicates either neglected setting or a damaged mechanism.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
LOW

Low replica volume for the Patrimony Moonphase. The retrograde mechanism is mechanically difficult to replicate at convincing quality.

  • Retrograde date hand that does not snap back instantly
  • Moonphase significantly off from the actual lunar cycle
  • Case height inconsistent with the Patrimony ultra-thin specification

Dial variants by era

toggle
EraDescriptionIdentifiers
Current productionRose gold Patrimony case with silver or grey dial. Retrograde date at 6 o'clock, moonphase aperture, and small seconds.
  • Retrograde date hand sweeping a fan-shaped sector at the dial periphery
  • Moonphase aperture showing a blue or black disc with a gold moon representation
  • Small seconds sub-dial in a position consistent with the movement layout
  • No date aperture; date is shown by the retrograde hand only
  • Ultra-thin case profile; Patrimony thinness is perceptible compared to non-ultra-thin dress watches

Service part flags

toggle
Retrograde date mechanism

Original: Retrograde date hand advances across a fan-shaped sector from 1 to 31 and then snaps back instantly to 1 at the end of the month. The snap-back must be instantaneous; any gradual return indicates a worn retrograde spring.

Replacement tells
  • Date hand that returns to 1 gradually rather than snapping instantly
  • Date hand that hesitates at any position during the retrograde snap-back
  • Date hand position inconsistent with the current date
Moonphase disc

Original: Moon disc accuracy is approximately one day per 122 years for current VC calibers. Moon phase should match the actual lunar cycle to within one to two days.

Replacement tells
  • Moon phase more than two days from the actual current lunar cycle
  • Moon representation that is asymmetric or incorrectly proportioned
  • Moonphase disc that cannot be advanced by the corrector

Case back markings

toggle
Current production
  • Exhibition caseback displaying the moonphase and retrograde caliber
  • Poincon de Geneve on all visible surfaces
  • Ultra-thin movement height consistent with the Patrimony case profile
  • 750 hallmark on rose gold case band
  • Reference 47105/000R-9159 on the case band

Movement tells

toggle
  • The retrograde snap mechanism requires a correctly tensioned spring. A watch that has been serviced and reassembled with the wrong spring tension will show a gradual rather than instantaneous return.
  • Moonphase accuracy on VC calibers at this tier is extremely high. A disc that is significantly off from the actual lunar cycle without a recent run-down event indicates mechanical wear or incorrect setting.
  • Poincon de Geneve finishing throughout; all surfaces visible through the caseback must show hand work.
