Lifted applied indices from moisture exposure are the most common issue on the Artelier.

Known issues in the market
  • Applied indices on dress watches can lift if exposed to moisture; inspect under magnification.
  • Cal. 733 caseback should show Oris finishing, not bare Sellita.

Oris Artelier Date 40mm (ref. 01.733.7721.4051-07), Cal. 733 on a Sellita SW200-1 base. Oris's dress watch line; thin case profile (11mm), no bezel, display caseback showing the Oris-finished movement.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
LOW

The Artelier Date is a lower-priority target for reproductions. The display caseback makes movement condition easy to assess.

  • Non-Oris signed rotor visible through display caseback
  • Movement finishing noticeably rougher than factory Oris-decorated Sellita
  • Case side profile with visible bezel step where the original is bezeless

Display Caseback

Original: Sapphire crystal display caseback, six-screw attachment, showing Cal. 733 with Oris-signed rotor.

Replacement tells
  • Solid caseback replacing the original display caseback
  • Display caseback with incorrect rotor visible (non-Oris signed rotor indicates movement swap)
Dial

Original: Sunburst finish silver or black dial. Very thin case and dial stack; the watch sits at 11mm total height.

Replacement tells
  • Non-sunburst finish dial
  • Applied indices with heavy luminous plots not matching dress-spec lume application

Case back markings

toggle
2014 to present
  • "ORIS" and "ARTELIER" visible on display caseback rim
  • Reference and serial number engraved on caseback edge
  • Display caseback; movement visible
  • "SWISS MADE"

Movement tells

toggle
  • Cal. 733 runs at 28,800 bph. The Oris-signed rotor should be visible through the display caseback. A bare Sellita rotor without Oris branding is a non-original movement.
  • The Artelier's thin profile means the movement is the original spec. It has not been modified with any additional modules. Any movement showing additional plates or complications is a swap.
