Authentication
Trilobe is a Paris micro-brand with minimal fake risk; condition disclosure on secondhand pieces is the primary concern.
Known issues in the market
- Thin secondary market means pricing is inconsistent and condition claims may be generous.
| Area | What to check | What is correct | Red flag |
|---|---|---|---|
| dial | Graduated dial coloring and texture | Even gradient from center to edge as specified, no surface inconsistencies, Trilobe text clean and correctly weighted | Uneven coloring, text that appears refreshed, surface texture that differs from production specification |
| case | Case finishing | Mixed finishing as per Trilobe specification; sharp case transitions, no evidence of buffing | All-polished surfaces indicating improper handling or buffing, tool marks on case sides or crown area |
| movement | Visible movement through exhibition caseback | Finishing consistent with Trilobe specification; rotor weight and decoration correct for stated caliber | Movement that does not match stated caliber specification |
Common legitimate replacements
- Straps commonly replaced.
Expert resources: Trilobe can verify serial numbers. Given thin secondary market, contacting the brand is straightforward.

Paris-based Trilobe displays time via three rotating discs rather than hands. The disc system is fully mechanical. Smooth, continuous disc rotation is the functional test. No replica exists.
