Last reviewed June 2026

The Teutonia IV Chronograph runs the Sellita SW510M with Mühle-Glashütte finishing, including the branded rotor and Glashütte stripes. It is a genuine German manufacture piece at a mid-tier price point. Condition and provenance matter more than reproduction risk at this price.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
LOW

This reference is not a known reproduction target at current market prices.

  • Plain Sellita rotor without Mühle branding indicates a movement swap or non-genuine piece
  • Bridges without Glashütte stripes
  • Dial printing quality below the brand standard, especially the "GLASHÜTTE I/SA" text

Primary risk is undisclosed movement swaps during informal service, not outright fakes.

Dial variants by era

Movement rotor

Original: Mühle-Glashütte-branded oscillating weight with the anchor logo. Sellita SW510M base with Glashütte stripes (Glashütte ribbing) on the bridges. Correct finishing distinguishes it from a bare Sellita.

Replacement tells
  • Rotor without the Mühle-Glashütte anchor logo
  • Bridges without Glashütte stripes (parallel decorative ribbing)
  • No perlage (circular graining) on the barrel bridge
Chronograph pushers

Original: Round pushers at 2 and 4 with positive mechanical engagement. No mushiness in start, stop, or reset functions.

Replacement tells
  • Pushers that feel mushy or fail to spring back cleanly
  • Chronograph seconds hand that does not return to zero on reset
  • Column wheel replaced with cheaper cam system during service

Case back markings

toggle
2018 to present
  • Reference M1-44-03-MB (or variant for strap/bracelet configuration)
  • "MÜHLE-GLASHÜTTE" and Glashütte address
  • Caliber designation (MU 9408 or Sellita SW510M base note)
  • Water resistance 100M
  • Serial number

Movement tells

toggle
  • Chronograph should start and stop crisply. Sluggish engagement suggests worn column wheel or dirty pivot jewels.
  • Power reserve is 48 hours. Anything under 40 hours from a full wind indicates mainspring service.
  • Glashütte stripes on bridges are the finishing baseline. Any bridge showing plain machining has been swapped.
