The Reverso One Re-edition honors the original 1931 dimensions with modern finishing standards; secondary prices are firm among purists who prefer the exact original proportions over contemporary enlarged variants.

Movement tier: unclassified · caliber JLC Cal. 846: manual-wind, in-house, 28,800bph, 45h PR, 17j; used in Reverso One Re-edition; rectangular movement matched to Reverso case geometry · 45h power reserve

Authentication

The swivel mechanism must operate without play; any looseness in the pivot indicates service, and a modified second-side dial is a post-purchase alteration.

Known issues in the market
  • The single-sided Reverso One has no second dial; any engraved or painted reverse side was modified after purchase.
  • The swivel pivot loosens over time; test the flip mechanism for play before purchase.

Authentication guide

Last reviewed June 2026

The Reverso One Reedition is a direct reissue of the original 1931 Reverso design: narrow rectangular case, original proportions, and the same swivel mechanism concept. Authentication follows the same Reverso swivel standards but the case proportions are smaller and more vintage than the Tribute family. Proportion accuracy is the first visual check.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
HIGH RISK

Incorrect case proportions

  • Case wider or longer than the known Reedition dimensions
  • Case with Tribute-proportioned body sold as the smaller Reedition
MEDIUM

Date display present

  • Any date aperture on the dial -- the Reedition does not have a date and a date display indicates a different (larger) Reverso reference

Dial variants by era

EraDescriptionIdentifiers
2021 to present (current Reedition)Ivory or silver dial faithful to the 1931 original: three-hand display, no sub-seconds, Art Deco-influenced applied indices. Smaller case than the Tribute family.
  • Narrow rectangular case: the Reedition uses proportions closer to the original 1931 watch than the larger Tribute references
  • Applied Art Deco indices with double-line hour markers at 12 and 6; applied batons at other positions
  • Cream or ivory dial surface -- not pure white, consistent with the vintage-inspired aesthetic
  • "JAEGER-LECOULTRE" and "REVERSO" on dial
  • Polished "LeCoultre" or "JLC" text on the swivel mechanism carriage flank
  • No date display -- faithful to the original 1931 configuration

Swivel mechanism

Original: Same swivel mechanism standard as all Reverso references: firm, positive click in each locked position, no lateral play when locked. The Reedition's smaller case dimensions mean the swivel components are proportionally thinner.

Replacement tells
  • Lateral play in the locked position
  • Swivel action without positive click
  • Visible gap at case-to-carriage rail junction
Case proportions

Original: The Reedition's case is narrower and shorter than the Reverso Tribute. Correct proportions are essential: 45.1mm lug-to-lug, 27mm width.

Replacement tells
  • Case with Tribute-size proportions sold as Reedition
  • Case width inconsistent with known Reedition dimensions

Case back markings

toggle
All Q3258420 production
  • Carriage underside: "JAEGER-LECOULTRE" engraved with reference and serial
  • Case body: movement caseback with Cal. 822/2 engraved on movement plate
  • Reference Q3258420 on caseback or carriage
  • No water resistance rating -- the Reedition is not water resistant

Movement tells

toggle
  • No water resistance on the Reedition -- do not immerse and do not assume water resistance based on service records from Reverso Tribute service (different gasket specification)
  • Swivel mechanism service same as all Reverso references
