GrailAtlasAn independent mechanical watch reference
Español

Entry to the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève is voluntary and made by the brand. An entry is a watch registered for that year's competition, not a jury verdict, and several large houses including Rolex, Patek Philippe and Omega do not take part at all.

Authentication

The Sub 200 omits the helium escape valve of the Sub 300T; Sub 200 caseback and dial text confirm the correct reference.

Known issues in the market
  • The three Sub variants share similar aesthetics; dial and caseback text confirm the correct reference.
  • A helium escape valve on a Sub 200 indicates a modified or incorrectly assembled case.

Authentication guide

Last reviewed June 2026

The Sub 200 is Doxa's entry diver, offered in multiple colorways. It uses a steel case and is rated to 200m. The Sub 200 is the most accessible Doxa and the most straightforward to authenticate: the inner bezel dive scale and correct colorway typography are the key checks.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
LOW

The Sub 200 is priced accessibly; full reproductions are uncommon. The main risk is dial damage concealed by poor photography.

  • Request natural-light photos of the dial at an angle to check for crazing or spotting
  • Inner bezel scale should be crisp and even; worn or misaligned scale indicates heavy use

Dial variants by era

toggle
EraDescriptionIdentifiers
2021 to presentMultiple colorways (orange, black, white, blue); steel case; 200m rating.
  • Inner rotating bezel with 60-minute dive scale (not outer bezel)
  • Doxa-orange, navy, black, or white dial depending on edition
  • "200M / 660FT" printed on dial
  • Steel case with screw-down crown
  • Applied hour markers with lume fill

Service part flags

toggle
Bezel Insert

Original: Inner rotating bezel ring with graduated dive scale; the scale rotates inside the sapphire crystal, not outside the case.

Replacement tells
  • Outer rotating bezel on a Sub 200 is incorrect; the Sub 200's dive scale is internal
  • Poorly printed or worn bezel scale with incorrect minute markings
Dial

Original: Dial color matches the named edition; text is crisply printed.

Replacement tells
  • Faded or uneven dial color (particularly on vintage or pre-owned pieces)
  • Incorrect depth rating text on the dial

Case back markings

toggle
2021 to present
  • "DOXA WATCH SA" on caseback
  • "200M / 660FT" water resistance
  • Serial number
  • "SWISS MADE"
  • Stainless steel designation

Movement tells

toggle
  • The Sub 200 uses the ETA 2824-2 or Sellita SW200; verify caliber during inspection.
  • Rotor should be Doxa-branded; an unbranded rotor is an immediate red flag.
