Authentication

The Triumph collaboration dial graphic is the defining authentication point; verify branding matches the specific edition.

Known issues in the market
  • The Triumph Motorcycle branding on the dial must match the exact collaboration edition; non-branded Top Time variants are different references.
  • Cal. 41 is ETA 7753-based; this is correct and appropriate for the Top Time tier.

Authentication guide

Last reviewed June 2026

The Top Time Triumph is a Triumph motorcycles collaboration launched in 2023, featuring a 1960s-inspired case with a rectangular tank-shape profile and a round bezel insert. The distinctive case geometry is unlike any other Breitling reference and is the primary authentication identifier. It runs Cal. 41, which is an ETA 7753-derived movement.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
LOW

The Top Time Triumph is a recent (2023) limited collaboration. Replica volume is low due to the complex case geometry and short production history.

  • Conventional round case rather than the tank-profile rectangular case of the actual Top Time Triumph
  • Triumph collaboration branding absent or inconsistent in quality
  • Case dimensions inconsistent with the 41mm Top Time Triumph specification

The complex case geometry is the strongest protection against replication. Any round-case watch presented as a Top Time Triumph is immediately incorrect.

EraDescriptionIdentifiers
Top Time Triumph current production (2023 to present)41mm case with "tank" profile inspired by 1960s Top Time, Triumph motorcycle branding on the dial, three-register chronograph, leather strap.
  • Tank-profile case: the case body has a rectangular cushion shape with a round bezel insert -- this is unique in the Breitling lineup and is the defining visual identifier
  • "TOP TIME" text on the dial
  • Triumph motorcycle branding or "TRIUMPH" text on the dial consistent with the collaboration
  • "CHRONOGRAPH" and appropriate complication text on the dial
  • Breitling "B" logo at 12 on the dial
  • Three-register layout: 30-minute register at 3, running seconds at 9, 12-hour register at 6
  • Date window between sub-dials
  • Silver sunburst dial characteristic of the standard configuration

Case geometry

Original: The Top Time Triumph case is the defining authentication point. The rectangular cushion case with a round bezel is visually and dimensionally distinct from every other Breitling reference. The case flanks are flat with softly rounded corners; the bezel insert is circular sitting within the rectangular case frame.

Replacement tells
  • Conventional round case on a stated Top Time Triumph -- the tank case geometry is the defining feature of this reference
  • Bezel that is rectangular rather than round -- the round bezel insert within a rectangular case is the specific design
  • Case corner radius that is more rounded or more square than the known production geometry
  • Lug width or length inconsistent with the 41mm Top Time Triumph specification
Triumph collaboration markings

Original: The Triumph collaboration is reflected on the dial with Triumph branding and potentially on the caseback or strap hardware. The collaboration markings should be consistent in quality and placement with the rest of the dial.

Replacement tells
  • Triumph text that appears printed flat with no depth, rather than being at consistent dial production quality
  • Triumph logo or text at incorrect scale or placement relative to the known production layout
  • Caseback without any reference to the Triumph collaboration if the caseback is expected to carry collaboration identification
Cal. 41 (ETA 7753 base)

Original: Cal. 41 is an ETA 7753-derived movement finished and COSC-certified by Breitling. It beats at 28,800bph with a 42-hour power reserve. The 7753 is the column-wheel version of the ETA 7750 family, providing positive pusher actuation.

Replacement tells
  • Pusher actuation with spongy or inconsistent feel -- the 7753 column-wheel should produce a definite click
  • Power reserve substantially below 35 hours from a fully wound state indicating mainspring wear
  • Movement visible through any caseback that does not match 7753-family bridge geometry

Case back markings

toggle
2023 to present
  • Caseback with Triumph collaboration identification or Top Time Triumph series specific design
  • Reference A23310 (or full reference string) on the case band
  • "Swiss Made" and COSC chronometer text
  • "Breitling" in correct typeface
  • Serial number between the lugs
  • Water resistance rating: 10 ATM / 100M

Movement tells

toggle
  • Cal. 41 is COSC-certified. A significant deviation from -4/+6 seconds per day warrants service.
  • The 42-hour power reserve is shorter than the B01 family. A fully wound Top Time Triumph should run a minimum of 36 hours.
  • ETA 7753 column-wheel actuation: the chronograph start/stop pusher should have a positive, defined click. Spongy feel indicates worn column-wheel.
  • The date change should be instantaneous at midnight.
