A 300-piece limited edition, so the practical risk is not a replica but a standard Bathyscaphe presented as the anniversary model. Two specifications settle it in seconds.

Known issues in the market
  • The standard production Bathyscaphe is visually similar at a glance and far more common. The anniversary edition is 37.4mm; the standard steel Bathyscaphe is 43mm, and no amount of dial description changes that.
  • Limited-edition numbering and the accompanying papers are the provenance here. A watch sold without them is worth materially less and is harder to place within the 300.
  • Blancpain is replicated far less than the mainstream Swiss divers, so a listing offering several examples at once deserves more scrutiny than a single one.

Common legitimate replacements
  • Straps are consumable and a replacement is normal, though it costs nothing to ask what the watch shipped on.
  • Service of the calibre 1150 is routine at Blancpain and does not affect originality; ask for the service record rather than treating it as a negative.
Expert resources: Blancpain’s own product page for 5903 1110 063A carries the full technical block. Monochrome Watches, SJX and Fratello all published hands-on coverage at launch with photographs detailed enough to compare dial finishing.
