Brand history

Founded 1845 in Glashütte, Saxony by Ferdinand Adolph Lange. Nationalized in 1948 under East German rule and effectively dormant for four decades; re-established 1990 by Walter Lange (great-grandson of the founder) with assistance from Günter Blümlein. The 1994 launch (Lange 1, Saxonia, Arkade, Tourbillon "Pour le Mérite") is one of the most successful brand-relaunches in horology — modern Lange is universally acknowledged as a top-luxury manufacture in the same conversation as the holy trinity.
