Authentication

Confirm Cal. 1141 at 36,000bph through the caseback and verify the column wheel; later Overseas chronographs use Cal. 5200 at a different beat rate.

Known issues in the market
  • Cal. 1141 runs at 36,000bph (5Hz); the high beat rate gives a near-continuous sweep to the chronograph hand.
  • The generation difference between Cal. 1141 and Cal. 5200 affects value; confirm the correct caliber for the generation of case.

The 49150/422A-9079 is a second-generation Overseas Chronograph, predating the Cal. 5200 column-wheel movement of the current generation. The movement architecture and case geometry differ significantly from the current 5500V. These are legitimate and collectible references but must be accurately represented as second-generation examples.
