Urwerk introduced the UR-210 in 2012 as a direct evolution of the UR-201, adding the AMC (Automatic Mean Controller) winding system to what was already one of the most complex display architectures in independent watchmaking. Three rotating satellites carry the hour numerals around a curved chapter ring, while a retrograde minute hand sweeps across a 60-second arc and snaps back at the top of each hour. The AMC module reads wrist activity over a set interval, then adjusts rotor drag via a turbine-and-valve system so the mainspring receives appropriate tension rather than over-winding.
The Amadeus edition released mid-run with a distinctive skeletonized treatment and references to Mozart baked into the dial architecture. Production ended in 2017 after roughly five years, making it a short but fully realized chapter in Urwerk's catalog.
