Known issues in the market
Bezel tachymeter scales cast or printed in a plain alloy rather than genuine Liquidmetal; Liquidmetal has a distinct bright, hard-edged fill against the black ceramic that plain paint or engraving cannot match.
Ceramic case chips or hairline cracks around the lugs and pushers, which are stress points on a monobloc-feeling ceramic build; any repair on ceramic (unlike steel) leaves a visible seam.
Cal. 9908 hand-wound movement swapped for a cheaper automatic caliber; a rotor visible through the sapphire caseback on this reference is disqualifying since the caliber is manual-wind.
