Authentication

Square-profile pushers at 2 and 4 are case-matched to the BR 03 geometry; round replacement pushers are an immediate non-genuine indicator.

Known issues in the market
  • Round pushers replacing the original square-profile BR pushers are a clear non-genuine indicator.
  • Earlier BR 03-94 used cam-actuated 2894 without column wheel; verify against reference documentation for specific variant.

Authentication guide

Last reviewed June 2026

The BR 03-94 Chronograph adds two sub-registers and integrated pushers to the square case; the column-wheel ETA-based movement and the visual sub-register layout are the key authentication anchors.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
MEDIUM

The BR03-94 is less replicated than the BR03-92 but fakes exist; the column-wheel movement and correct pusher geometry are the primary checks.

  • Pusher shape: recessed square pushers on the original; round or protruding pushers on fakes.
  • Column-wheel operation: the mechanism should click with each pusher press; a cam-lever alternative feels spongy.
  • Dial printing at 10x magnification; sub-register scale text is a common weakness on replicas.

Dial variants by era

  • Two sub-registers: running seconds at 9, 30-minute at 3
  • Integrated pushers recessed into the square case at 2 and 4

Service part flags

Chronograph pushers

Original: Recessed square pushers integrated into the case at 2 and 4; they sit within the case outline, not protruding.

Replacement tells
  • Round protruding pushers are not original to the BR 03-94; they indicate an incorrect case or modification.
Sub-register printing

Original: Running seconds scale and minute-register tachymeter or simple scale printed cleanly on the matte dial.

Replacement tells
  • Blurred scale printing or misaligned sub-register dials.
  • Sub-register hands that don't sweep or stop correctly after a chronograph operation.

Movement tells

toggle
  • The BR-CAL.301 is an ETA 2894 base with column-wheel and B&R finishing; the column wheel is visible through the display caseback on exhibition variants.
  • Modular chronograph layout: the base movement runs independently; the chrono module sits on top.
  • Column wheel should click positively through pusher operation; a cam-lever chrono in place of the column wheel indicates movement substitution.
  • Sub-register hands should return to zero cleanly on reset; a hand that lands off-zero needs service.
