The Batman 126710BLNR is one of the most actively replicated current-generation Rolex references. The bicolor Cerachrom bezel and Cal. 3285 movement are the primary verification targets.

Known issues in the market
  • High-quality super clone replicas target the 126710BLNR specifically; convincing copies of the Cerachrom bezel are now widely available.
  • Franken-watches pairing genuine Rolex cases with non-3285 movements are sold at price points below market.
  • The bicolor black/blue bezel insert is the most-replicated element; fake inserts often show color bleed or incorrect junction finish.

Last reviewed June 2026

The GMT-Master II 126710BLNR is among the most aggressively replicated Rolex references. The two-tone cerachrom bezel and Cal. 3285 movement are the critical inspection points; bracelet and dial finishing separate legitimate examples from sophisticated fakes.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
HIGH RISK

The GMT-Master II family is the most replicated Rolex line. The 126710BLNR specifically attracts sophisticated fakes because the two-tone cerachrom bezel is a visible prestige signal that buyers recognize without handling the watch.

  • Bezel cerachrom color division at wrong position: should divide at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock on the 24h scale, not at 3 and 9
  • Dial lume plots not fully filled; Chromalight should be flat and flush with the applied surround
  • Printed text on dial rather than applied three-dimensional hour markers
  • GMT hand tip color: orange or painted red vs. true Chromalight red fill
  • Rehaut (inner bezel ring) engravings shallow or absent; genuine examples have "ROLEX" repeated around the rehaut at depth
  • Case profile viewed from the side: reproduction cases often have thicker lugs or a slightly different crown-guard shape

The 126710BLNR commands significant secondary market premiums. Any example priced meaningfully below grey market should be examined in person before purchase.

Dial variants by era

toggle
EraDescriptionIdentifiers
2019 to present (Oyster bracelet)Black dial with applied Rolesor hour markers, no date cyclops. Launched on Oyster bracelet only.
  • Black lacquer dial with applied white gold surrounds on hour markers
  • Chromalight lume in plots and hands with long-duration blue glow
  • "GMT-MASTER II" text in two lines below 12 o'clock
  • No date window; the 126710BLNR omits the date entirely
  • Seconds hand with white tip, not a plain stick
2023 to present (Jubilee bracelet variant -- 126710BLNR-0002, "Batgirl")Same black dial and black/blue cerachrom bezel, but paired with Jubilee bracelet. Technically a separate reference but shares the 126710BLNR base number with a suffix.
  • Five-piece Jubilee links vs. the three-piece Oyster links on the base reference
  • Identical dial and bezel to the Oyster-bracelet 126710BLNR
  • Clasp stamped with Oysterlock safety catch in Jubilee configuration

Service part flags

Cerachrom bezel insert

Original: Two-tone cerachrom: black ceramic for AM hours (0-12 on the 24h scale), blue ceramic for PM hours (12-24). The color division falls at the 6/18 position (12 o'clock and 6 o'clock on the 24h ring), with a sharp, flush boundary between the two ceramic sections.

Replacement tells
  • Seam between black and blue sections is raised, gapped, or misaligned rather than flush
  • Color saturation visually inconsistent between the two halves under direct light
  • Bezel insert replaced with a Pepsi (red/blue) or Coke (red/black) insert to alter the reference
  • Bezel clicks feel soft or over-firm compared to factory spec; should have 120 detent positions
GMT hand

Original: Red-tipped arrow-style 24-hour hand. The tip is Chromalight-filled. The GMT hand is mechanically independent from the hour hand via Cal. 3285's quick-set mechanism.

Replacement tells
  • GMT hand tip is orange or painted rather than true red ceramic or lume fill
  • GMT hand length does not reach the chapter ring at all 24 positions
  • GMT hand cannot be set independently of the hour hand (movement function test)
Bracelet

Original: Oystersteel Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock clasp and Easylink 5mm comfort extension. The bracelet has solid center links, brushed outer links, and polished beveled edges.

Replacement tells
  • Center links hollow rather than solid (audible rattle when shaken)
  • Brushed/polished pattern reversed or absent on outer links
  • Easylink extension mechanism absent or non-functional
  • Clasp crown logo stamped shallow or asymmetrically positioned

Case back markings

toggle
2019 to present
  • "ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL GMT-MASTER II SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" around the perimeter
  • Rolex crown logo at center
  • Serial number engraved between the lugs at 6 o'clock (moved from rehaut engraving position in earlier refs)
  • Caseback is screwed down, not hinged; should require a Rolex tool to open

Movement tells

toggle
  • Cal. 3285 has a 70-hour power reserve; if the watch stops in under 48 hours from fully wound, the mainspring or winding mechanism needs service.
  • The Chronergy escapement uses a nickel-phosphorus lever and escape wheel; under 10x loupe the pallet fork should have clean, sharp ruby surfaces with no chips.
  • Cal. 3285 runs at 28,800 bph (8 Hz); on a timegrapher the beat rate deviation should be under ±2 s/day in all six positions for a movement in good service.
  • The rotor should spin freely with no grinding. Any gritty resistance indicates wear in the ball bearing, which is a common service interval indicator on this caliber.
  • The GMT function: set the hour hand forward 12 positions with the crown in the second position. The GMT hand should stay stationary while the hour hand advances. If the GMT hand jumps with the hour hand, the independently-set mechanism has failed.
