Price trend chart coming soon

The Ahoi Atlantik neomatik commands a premium over standard Ahoi references because of the in-house DUW 3001 automatic; secondary demand from sport-minded Nomos collectors is consistent.

Editorial estimate, 2026 Q2. Actual prices vary by condition, date, and box/papers status.

Authentication

Screw-down crown and 300m water resistance rating authenticate the Ahoi Atlantik

Known issues in the market
  • Water resistance claims require verification; a pressure test is the definitive check for any dive watch
  • DUW 3001 neomatik movement must be verified against movement signing
  • Ahoi Atlantik case dimensions are larger than standard Ahoi; verify correct diameter

movementDUW 3001 neomatik automaticAutomatic rotor visible through exhibition caseback; "DUW 3001" or neomatik designation; thin movement; "Nomos Glashütte" signed; three-quarter plate with Glashütte stripingThick movement inconsistent with neomatik spec; incorrect calibre designation; missing Glashütte decoration
dialAhoi dial with dive legibilityHigh-contrast dial with luminous plots; "Ahoi" and "Atlantik" designation; "Nomos Glashütte i/SA" signing; correct luminous plot shape per documented variantLow-contrast or no luminous treatment; incorrect luminous plot shapes; missing signing
Common legitimate replacements
  • Rubber strap is the recommended wear choice and commonly replaced; 20mm lug width.
  • Screw-down crown threads should be inspected; cross-threading causes water resistance failure.

Authentication guide

Last reviewed June 2026

The Ahoi Atlantik is the sport and dive-rated Nomos at 200m. It differs from the Tangente family by its round case with integrated crown profile, Cal. DUW 5101 neomatik automatic, and distinctive colored accent on the seconds hand. The flat disc rotor and screw-down crown are the primary authentication anchors.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
HIGH RISK

Non-Nomos movement with standard oscillating rotor in Ahoi case

  • Standard oscillating rotor through caseback instead of the flat disc neomatik rotor
  • Movement without Glashütte stripes
  • Screw-down crown that does not engage or lacks proper thread feel

Dial variants by era

toggle
EraDescriptionIdentifiers
2013 to presentBlue lacquer or sunray dial with applied hour indices, seconds sub-dial at 6, and orange or red accent on the seconds hand and inner chapter ring. Date window at 3.
  • Applied indices rather than a printed minute track -- unlike the Tangente's railroad ring, the Ahoi uses applied markers
  • Colored accent at the seconds hand tip and inner chapter ring (orange in standard Atlantik color scheme)
  • Date window at 3 with no cyclops -- flat sapphire crystal consistent with Nomos lineup
  • "NOMOS Glashütte" at 12, "MADE IN GERMANY" at 6
  • Crown at 3 flanked by the case profile -- not exposed crown guards, but the case geometry protects the crown

Screw-down crown

Original: The Ahoi is one of the few Nomos references with a screw-down crown, required for 200m water resistance. The crown screws flush into the case. Pulling the crown to set positions requires unscrewing first.

Replacement tells
  • Crown without a screw-down mechanism -- the Ahoi screws down for 200m rating
  • Crown that pulls directly to set positions without unscrewing first
  • Crown without the appropriate profile for the Ahoi case geometry
Movement (Cal. DUW 5101)

Original: In-house neomatik automatic, 21,600 bph (3Hz), 42-hour power reserve. The neomatik system uses a flat disc rotor rather than a conventional oscillating weight, making the movement thinner. The disc rotor is visible through the caseback as a flat semicircle.

Replacement tells
  • Standard oscillating rotor through caseback rather than the flat disc neomatik rotor
  • Movement without "DUW 5101" designation on the bridge
  • Power reserve below 38 hours from full wind
  • Movement without Glashütte stripes -- DUW calibers carry the same streifen finishing as Cal. Alpha

Case back markings

toggle
2013 to present
  • Ref. 551 (or variant reference for different configurations)
  • "DUW 5101" movement designation
  • "NOMOS Glashütte" and "MADE IN GERMANY"
  • 200M water resistance
  • Serial number (6-digit format)

Movement tells

toggle
  • Cal. DUW 5101 power reserve is 42 hours. Running out before 36 hours needs service.
  • The flat disc rotor should spin freely and silently. Any friction or scraping sound from the caseback indicates rotor bearing service needed.
  • Beat rate is 21,600 vph (3Hz). Seconds hand advances in 1/6-second steps -- same stepping feel as Cal. Alpha but with automatic winding.
