Total Eclipse fumee dial is intentionally near-black; the MOSER text in correct font is the verification check.
Known issues in the market
- The nearly invisible branding on Total Eclipse dials is intentional; any Streamliner where the branding is clearly legible at arm length may not be the Total Eclipse variant.
- The fumee dial depth on Total Eclipse is extreme; any dial that looks lighter than near-black is a wrong dial variant.
| Area | What to check | What is correct | Red flag |
|---|---|---|---|
| dial | Total Eclipse dial darkness | Fumee dial so dark it appears nearly black; MOSER text barely visible; intentional design | Dial clearly lighter than near-black; wrong variant or non-genuine dial |
| dial | MOSER text font | MOSER text in correct Moser font; barely legible at arm length on Total Eclipse | Wrong font; clearly legible branding at arm length; wrong dial variant |
| caseback | HMC 327 movement | HMC 327 in-house movement with small seconds complication visible through caseback | Non-in-house movement; movement swap |

The Streamliner Small Seconds Total Eclipse is the simpler Streamliner variant: integrated bracelet, cushion case, small seconds at 6, and the Total Eclipse fumé dial that is nearly black at the edges. The near-black fumé gradient is deeper than standard Moser fumé and is the primary dial identity check.
