Authentication

A 10-piece platinum tourbillon with a hand-decorated Urushi lacquer and maki-e dial. As with every Credor flagship, counterfeits essentially do not exist; the real risk is misrepresentation of a lower Credor grade as this piece, or overstating the dial's decorative technique.

Known issues in the market
  • The dial combines Urushi lacquer, mother-of-pearl (raden) inlay, gold-powder maki-e, and kirikane gold-leaf cutting; each is a distinct hand-applied technique and a genuine example should show visible depth and texture from all of them, not a flat printed approximation.
  • The flying tourbillon bridge is openworked and should be visible from the dial side; a covered or partially obscured tourbillon is inconsistent with this model.
  • Only 10 pieces were made; any example should have documented provenance given the tiny production run.

Expert resources: Seiko/Credor boutiques in Japan can verify via serial number given the 10-piece run. Monochrome Watches' introduction coverage documents the dial technique in detail for comparison.
