Philippe Dufour

Philippe Dufour opened his own workshop in Le Sentier in 1978, restoring antique pocket watches and finishing sonnerie movements for Audemars Piguet before debuting his first watch under his own name, the Grande et Petite Sonnerie, in 1992. The Duality (1996) and Simplicity (2000) then established him as the hand-finishing reference point for the rest of the independent trade. Fewer than 10 watches a year, every part made and finished by Dufour himself.
