The 126710BLRO is the first steel Pepsi GMT since the original 1675 and commands the highest secondary premium in the current GMT-Master II lineup. High-quality replicas arrived within months of launch.

Known issues in the market
  • The two-color CERACHROM bezel insert is a specific target for replica makers; the genuine insert has a hard-cut color boundary and deep inlaid numerals.
  • Franken-watches combining genuine 126710 cases with non-Pepsi bezel inserts from BLNR variants occur in the secondary market.
  • Serial numbers are verified by Rolex serial lookup; this reference has a defined production window that makes out-of-range serials detectable.

Common legitimate replacements
  • Bezel insert replacement is the most common alteration; confirm genuine two-color ceramic with correct numeral inlaying.
  • Crystal replacement is standard service; confirm correct Rolex sapphire with cyclops date magnifier.
  • Bracelet clasp replacement occurs at service; confirm Oysterclasp with correct fine-adjustment function.

Authentication guide

Last reviewed June 2026

The 126710BLRO is the first steel Pepsi GMT since the original 1675 and commands the highest secondary premium in the current GMT-Master II lineup. The two-color Cerachrom bezel and Cal. 3285 independent GMT function are the key verification targets. Three colorway variants share the same 126710 case: the Pepsi (BLRO, blue/red), the Batman (BLNR, blue/black, introduced 2013 on the 116710BLNR), and the Batgirl (BLNR-0002, blue/black on Jubilee, 2019). The bezel insert is the only external difference between them; the cases, movements, and serial ranges overlap. A Pepsi bezel on a BLNR case (or vice versa) is a documented secondary market swap. Always verify the reference suffix against the bezel colorway.

Known reproduction risks

toggle
HIGH RISK

Super clone replicas targeting the Pepsi variant specifically, arriving within months of the 2018 launch.

  • Bezel color transition between blue and red that is soft or graduated rather than hard-cut
  • Dial coronet at 12 that is flat under magnification
  • Jubilee bracelet center links with incorrect brushing direction or loose inter-link tolerance
  • End links that do not seat flush against the case horn
  • Local hour adjustment that stops the seconds hand
MEDIUM

126710BLNR (Batman) or 126710BLNR-0002 (Batgirl) cases with Pepsi bezel inserts swapped in to present a more valuable BLRO configuration. The Batman and Batgirl use blue/black ceramic; the Pepsi uses blue/red. A Pepsi bezel on a BLNR case looks correct at a glance because the blue section color matches.

  • Case midband engravings that read BLNR instead of BLRO -- always read the full reference suffix on the case
  • Serial number that predates the 126710BLRO production window (2018 onward)
  • Papers or warranty card referencing the BLNR configuration when the presented watch has a Pepsi insert

Dial variants by era

toggle
EraDescriptionIdentifiers
2018 to presentBlack dial with two-color Pepsi bezel. Jubilee bracelet standard.
  • Black dial with red GMT arrow hand
  • Blue/red Cerachrom bezel insert -- blue occupies the 24-hour PM hours (12 to 24 on the 24h scale), red the AM hours (0 to 12). The GMT hand is red because it is conventionally set to read against the red (AM) section of the bezel at home-time use. On the GMT-Master I the GMT hand was also red; on the GMT-Master II the hand is red/blue or blue/black to match the bezel colorway. This distinction is functional: the GMT hand indicates a second time zone at the 24-hour bezel, not merely for aesthetics.
  • Drilled lug holes (present on the 126710 generation)
  • Jubilee bracelet as the standard configuration (Oyster bracelet is available but less common)
  • Reference engraved on the rehaut at 12 position

Bezel insert

Original: Two-color Cerachrom ceramic. The blue-red color boundary runs through a single bezel segment with a hard-cut line. Both colors are deeply saturated and resist fading. The insert is specific to the BLRO (Pepsi) configuration; the Batman (BLNR) and Batgirl (BLNR-0002) use a blue/black insert on the same case.

Replacement tells
  • Soft or gradient color transition between blue and red -- the genuine boundary is a clean, geometric cut
  • Any fading in the blue or red portions -- Cerachrom ceramic does not fade; fading indicates an aluminum aftermarket insert
  • Aluminum insert in a stated 126710BLRO (this generation uses ceramic only)
  • BLNR (blue/black) bezel insert on a stated BLRO -- bezel swaps between the Pepsi and Batman/Batgirl variants are documented. Check the case midband reference engraving: a BLNR engraving with a Pepsi insert is a swap.
GMT hand

Original: Red arrow GMT hand that tracks the 24-hour bezel. The red matches the red portion of the bezel.

Replacement tells
  • GMT hand replaced with a standard hour hand (some sellers misrepresent a non-GMT movement as one)
  • Red tone on the GMT hand that does not match the bezel red -- they should be color-matched
  • Arrow tip geometry that differs from known production examples

Case back markings

toggle
2018 to present
  • Solid caseback
  • OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE GMT-MASTER II in correct Rolex typeface
  • Reference 126710BLRO on the rehaut at 12
  • Serial number on the rehaut at 6
  • Production serials begin in the 2018 range; any serial far outside this production window warrants investigation

Movement tells

toggle
  • Cal. 3285 allows independent one-hour-increment adjustment of the local hour hand. Crown at position 2 advances or retards the local hour without stopping the seconds -- this is the key functional tell.
  • A genuine GMT where the seconds stop when you adjust the local time is running a different movement (likely Cal. 3135 with the GMT function disabled).
  • The Chronergy escapement in Cal. 3285 runs at 28,800bph with a 70-hour power reserve.
  • Parachrom hairspring should be visible as a blue-violet color component of the balance assembly when viewed through the caseback of an open-case watch.
  • Independent local-hour adjustment via the crown is the single clearest functional authentication test for this reference.
