The J12 was born from a desire. When Jacques Helleu, the House's Artistic Director, decided to create a watch, he designed it for himself. He sketched his first lines imagining it as timeless, sporty, all black. He drew inspiration from two worlds he loved more than anything: automotive and sailing. He adored the chassis of racing cars and, above all, the noble silhouettes of America's Cup sailboats. They were called J12s. The watch would be named after them.
