The Ebel Wave | family history

Ebel was founded in 1911 and built a strong market position in the 1980s and 1990s on integrated-bracelet designs for women and men. The Wave is the brand's accessible round entry for women: a clean case, wave-motif link bracelet, and an automatic movement that puts it above pure fashion territory.

Year introduced: 20031 reference

Ebel's signature family, named for the wavy lugs that flow from the case into the bracelet. The Wave Automatic 36mm is the contemporary core piece, offering the house's distinctive design language in a versatile sport-dress size.

2003 · Launch and wave-link identity

Ebel launched the Wave as a softer alternative to its iconic Sport Classic rectangular line. The round case and fluid wave bracelet links gave the watch a feminine character without the fashion-house pricing associated with that aesthetic. The ETA 2671 automatic was an honest movement choice for the market segment.

2010s-present · Wave Automatic 36

The current Wave Automatic 36 is the family's primary reference. The ETA 2671 miniature automatic runs at 28,800 bph, appropriate for the movement size. The wave bracelet is well-finished at the price point. Pre-owned examples are available at significant discounts, often representing strong value against new alternatives from fashion competitors.
