This is Panerai's first 40mm ceramic Luminor case; the crown-protecting bridge itself is ceramic (not steel or titanium), and the GMT hand is a 12-hour "BiTempo" arrow hand, not a 24-hour hand.
Known issues in the market
- The crown-guard bridge, case, and bezel are all sandblasted black ceramic on this reference; a metal (steel or titanium) crown-guard bridge on a watch sold as this reference is wrong.
- The second-timezone hand is a 12-hour arrow hand set independently via the crown, not a 24-hour hand reading a fixed or rotating 24-hour bezel; confusing this with a true 24-hour GMT complication is a common misdescription.
- Ceramic is brittle under point impact; chips at the lugs or crown-guard edges are a value-affecting defect, not something that buffs out the way a metal case scratch does.

Common legitimate replacements
- Ships on a black calf leather strap with white stitching plus an additional black rubber strap, both using Panerai's PAM Click Release system for tool-free swaps; a swapped strap is not itself a red flag.
