Morteau watches
References in the Grail Atlas catalog made in Morteau.
Morteau is a town in the French Jura, near the Swiss border, and has been a center of French watchmaking since the 18th century, geographically and culturally part of the same arc-horloger as the Swiss Vallée de Joux. Pequignet, the French manufacture represented in the catalog, is based in Morteau and produces its own Manufacture calibers in-house. Pequignet is the most prominent surviving independent French manufacture in the catalog and one of the last companies producing the full movement fabrication chain (ébauche through casing) within France.
