Hachioji watches
References in the Grail Atlas catalog made in Hachioji.
Hachioji, a city in western Tokyo, is the location of Orient's manufacturing operations. Orient has produced mechanical watches in Japan since 1950 and is notable for in-house automatic movements at enthusiast-tier prices, the F6922 caliber powering the Mako and Ray lines is made entirely within Orient's facilities. Since the 2009 acquisition by Seiko Epson, Orient remains operationally independent with its own R&D and production. The Hachioji factory represents a rarer thing in the catalog: a genuine manufacture at entry-level price points.
