Anything above marked not recorded is a gap in this catalog, not a property of the watch. Do not read a blank as a zero.

Before anything else

A 47mm skeletonised titanium Submersible, boutique-exclusive and made by laser-sintering titanium powder rather than machining a billet. That construction is unusual enough to be its own authentication check.

What to look at

1. dial Absence of a dial plate
   Correct Skeletonised through to the movement, with floating lumed indices
   Red flag Any solid dial surface behind the hands
2. case DMLS surface texture
   Correct A fine, even sintered granularity under sandblasting, consistent across the case
   Red flag Machining marks, or a smoothness inconsistent with a sintered surface
3. movement Cal. P.4001/S micro-rotor
   Correct Off-centre tungsten micro-rotor visible, 72-hour reserve indicated on the back
   Red flag A full rotor, or a reserve well short of three days
4. case Unidirectional anticlockwise bezel
   Correct Turns anticlockwise only against a matte blue ceramic disc
   Red flag Bidirectional rotation

Known issues on this reference

• The case is DMLS, direct metal laser sintering, and sandblasted. Its surface has a characteristic fine granularity that a machined-and-blasted case does not reproduce exactly.
• There is no dial plate. The indices float and the hands are openworked, so anything resembling a conventional dial under the hands is wrong.
• Panerai publishes neither thickness nor lug-to-lug for this reference, so a listing quoting confident figures for either is quoting something other than Panerai.

Parts that are commonly replaced

• Rubber straps are consumable; the 26/22 taper is specific to this case.
• Bezel discs are replaced after damage.

Ask the seller, whatever the watch

• When was it last serviced, by whom, and is there paperwork?
• Has the case ever been polished?
• Which parts are not original to it?
• Do you have the box, papers and the original bracelet or strap?
• Why are you selling it?
• Can I see it in daylight, and can I take a photo of the caseback?
