To pay tribute to the prowess of Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang, Memorigin has created three-dimensional time markers inspired by the famous bas-reliefs of Shaanxi, the six coursers of the Zhao Mausoleum. Four horses are sculpted in 18K gold and placed at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock; two others adorn the outline of the dial. The design of the hands is inspired by the works of the astronomer Yi Xing of the Tang Dynasty. The silver dial features eight micro-sculpted and hand-painted sacred mountains, as well as China's two longest rivers glowing in the dark. The central tourbillon movement, with a 42-hour power reserve, beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
