Oyster Perpetual

The plainest watch Rolex makes, and the one every other Rolex is a variation on: an Oyster case, a self-winding movement, no date, no complication and nothing to read but the time. The name dates to 1931 and the patented perpetual rotor that made self-winding practical. Modern references run the same calibre 3230 as the Submariner’s no-date sibling, which is why the entry point to the collection is mechanically identical to watches costing several times more.
