GrailAtlasAn independent reference for mechanical watches

Explore

A walk through the catalog driven by your eye, not your form answers. Every field is optional. Start blind (random four watches) or seed with a watch you already know you like; pick the one you'd rather wear each round; the engine pivots and offers four more. Six rounds at most.

Each constraint section has a hardness toggle. Must match means a candidate that violates the section is dropped entirely. Prefer means it scores lower but can still appear if every alternative is much worse. Defaults are sensible. Flip a section's toggle to override.

Start with a style

Click a tile and the engine seeds the first round with that category, no form to fill out, no reference to pick. Want finer control instead? Use the form below.

Or seed with a specific reference

Already know a watch you like? The form below seeds the first round with that reference and every other constraint you set.

More constraints — material, strap, color, complications, numerals

These sections are optional and folded by default. Open when you have a strong preference; leave closed for an unfiltered taste walk.

Case material

Multi-valued: a reference appears if any of its factory variants matches your selection. A 15202 ships in steel, four golds, and platinum — pick rose-gold and the 15202 surfaces with a "rose-gold variant matches" badge.

Strap / bracelet

Dial color

Multi-valued — most references shipped in many dial colors. The catalog v0 lists the most-commonly-traded factory colors per reference; not exhaustive.

Complications

For each row: with (engine prefers; with section=hard, required), no preference (default), or without (engine excludes — always hard, regardless of the section toggle).

Free-text color note (engine doesn't match)

If you have a color in mind that isn't on the structured list above ("emerald," "champagne with sunburst," etc.), drop it here. v1 stores the note and surfaces it on the result page; a future round will widen the structured palette.
