Day-date watches
References in the Grail Atlas catalog carrying the day-date complication.
Day-date displays the day of the week in full spelled-out form alongside the date, typically through twin windows. The Rolex Day-Date "President" 228238 (yellow gold), 228206 (platinum), and the recently-launched 40 mm 228235 (Everose) are the category's defining references, the Day-Date has been a Presidents-and-CEOs watch since 1956. The Patek Philippe 5235 takes a different visual route through twin small windows on a sub-dial. Day-Date references are almost always precious metal.
Day of the week and date shown together, most familiarly day at twelve and date at three, with two independent discs driven from the same twenty-four-hour wheel.
