Joure
Founded 1974 by Christiaan van der Klaauw in Joure, in the Frisian Lake District, the same town where 18th-century astronomer-clockmaker Eise Eisinga built the planetarium that still operates today (the oldest functioning planetarium in the world). The atelier (now headquartered in Naarden, with the Joure name preserved on the brand’s defining Real Moon reference) specialises in astronomical complications: planetarium displays, three-dimensional moon-phases accurate to one day in 11,000 years, eclipse and zodiac indications. Annual production sits below 100 watches across the entire catalog. Joined by Grönefeld (Oldenzaal) as the catalog’s second Netherlands-based brand.
Oldenzaal
Founded 2008 by brothers Bart and Tim Grönefeld -- fourth-generation watchmakers known as "The Horological Brothers" -- in their hometown of Oldenzaal, near the German border. The 1941 Remontoire won the GPHG Men's Watch prize in 2016. The second Netherlands-based brand in the catalog alongside Christiaan van der Klaauw.
